Calling all Prom Queens! Enter to win a walk-on roll on "90210"

That's right, all you teen beauties have a chance to win a walk-on roll on the "90210" West Beverly Prom Episode! Screaming with delight and frantically texting your friends is a completely appropriate reaction. I'm tipsy over the whole thing myself! And let's be real, you've kept your star-qualities hidden from the world far too long. The nice people at CLEAN & CLEAR obviously agree with me because they wanted to do more than just help your gorgeous complexion in 2009, they're giving you the opportunity to be a star. Did I mention you get to share that spotlight with your BFF? Told you they were nice!

Here's the skinny on making your big debut:
  1. Call, text, or immediately find your BFF and dish about how crazy it's going to be when you're on TV.
  2. Get your beauty plan together. You're going to need a short video about why you deserve to win and you no doubt want to look fab doing it! Check out Annie's Confessionals if you need a place to start. Pick your outfits and your words wisely. You want to stand out from the rest of the BFF vids that will pour in. Remember, it's your chance to win a roll on a hit show, so make a plan and rock it.
  3. Shoot your short but sweet video and upload it here
  4. Plan to enjoy a 4 day, 3 night trip to Los Angeles to film your "90210" episode. Dream about the on-set VIP services you'll receive including hair, makeup, and wardrobe. And look unbelievable all year with a supply of products from CLEAN & CLEAR.
That's it. I hope you'll still visit when you're a star. BTW, when you win, I expect a little shout-out for beauty tipsy! ;)

A better complexion in 2009

Happy New Year! I have not doubt that 2009 is going to be a beautiful year indeed, but my complexion doesn't seem to agree. I suppose the holiday rush and merriment, mixed with bitterly cold temps is starting to take its toll. To remedy the situation I've turned to a mix of posh and purse-friendly beauty finds.

The posh list:
Clairsonic Skin Brush - SoniCare has taken their deep-cleaning expertise from dental care to skin care. The Clairsonic Brush works with your cleanser to give your skin a deep cleaning with each use. It's even shown to help with Rosacea - LOVE THAT!

Zeno - I guess the Zeno could be considered semi-posh since it's now available at drug stores and the derms office. Regardless, it works wonders to banish blemishes before they become too bothersome. It's not for all acne, but it does work wonders on the "under-grounders" that seem to pop up suddenly and hurt like hell. The Zeno tip was developed with technology from NASA to apply a perfectly calibrated 2-minute heat treatment to blemishes. Bottom line - it works!!! And I won't travel anywhere without my Zeno in tow.

The purse-friendly list:
Cetaphil - You cannot beat this inexpensive, soap-free cleanser. It's available at the drug store, grocery store, even Target. Dermatologists have recommended it for years, and it seems to be the one cleanser I always go back to. I opt for the gentle formula that can be rinsed clean with water or simply tissued off the skin for those extra-dry days.

Aquaphor - Made by Eucerin, Aquaphor is a bit greasy when first applied but does wonders to keep skin moisturized and protected. In the winter months it's the first thing I turn to for moisturizing my lips and fighting dry skin on my hands and feet.

Happy day,

Stila gets personal with holiday beauty

I've been a fan of Stila cosmetics since I first laid eyes on their whimsical packaging. Since then, I've come to covet their lip color and glazes, along with a slew of who's-who Hollywood starlets. And this weekend my Stila-love multiplied! I had the pleasure of attending a Stila event at Smooch Beauty Boutique and put my very bare face in the capable hands of Dominique for a beauty transformation. And what a transformation it was ... In little under an hour he took me from feeling schlumpy-Saturday to flirty-chic all with the help of one little palette and some some fabulous beauty tools. Amazing how a little colour can put a skip in your step isn't it!

Anyway, I left love, love, loving their surprise & shine holiday palette. Not only does it include shimmering neutral shades that would compliment any skin tone, you can record a personalized message. Genius! What a perfect holiday gift for every makeup maven on your list. Not only will you be adding a to their holiday cheer, you can record a sassy little bit about how beautiful they are. While you're gifting, don't forget to throw in a palette for yourself. My personal palette says something like, "Damn you look good," which makes my signature side-smirk smile appear instantly! Now if they'd just add a mirror.

Shop on!

American Beauty

Hey Beauties,

Four years has flown by (or maybe not...) and it's time to exercise your right to vote! With record turnouts and long lines, you may want to slip on your ballet flats before heading to the polls. If you find yourself feeling impatient, just pretend that you're waiting in line for a sample sale of historic proportions.

And if coffee is your lifeline, a little Starbucks incentive awaits! Proudly wear your "I Voted Today" adornment and Starbucks will reward you with a FREE cup of coffee. Viola! Most important, make your views known. You're far to fabulous to not take part in this VIP event, so gloss up and get going. Maybe I'll see you there!

Beauty is your right too! ;)

Is it possible...

That a month has passed without any tipsy. I'm so sorry! It's all been a blur and so much has been going on, including relaunching my jewelry line and launching a new line of designer aprons. Yeah, aprons, but they're like hot little dresses, not Betty Crocker. And to answer all the questions I've been getting about where it's appropriate to sport an apron - ummmm, pretty much anywhere, especially these. For holiday I have plaid, polka dots, and chiffon. LOVE! Here's one pic of a cute halter-style apron and I'll post more soon.

Missed you,
